This project will enable 100 orphans have special happy Christmas by providing the children and their families with psychosocial and material support. The children will receive animal gifts to improve household incomes in future. The children will receive material support in form food, clothing. 20 home visits will conducted for psychosocial support and counselling. Each children will receive direct support worth $70. 10% will cover administrative costs.
Uganda has 2 million orphans in total, which accounts for 14% of children. The AIDS Commission attributes an estimated 1.7 million of these to HIV/AIDS. Orphans never enjoy Christmas instead it becomes a day to grief because cannot get anything special on Christmas since nobody is there to provide. They instead remember the death of their parents and grief. 100 orphans will receive Christmas gifts to share the joy that comes with the birth of Christmas season.
The project will provide the orphans with psychosocial support through home visits by a team of counsellors. The project will give out material support to 100 children to enable the children enjoy their Christmas. The project will provide orphans with income generating projects in form of animal gifts as part of the Christmas gifts. We provide trauma counselling to the children and their families soon after the Christmas season.
The orphans will cope with the loss of their parents due to HIV and AIDS. 100 Children and their families will receive income generating projects allowing the to rise out poverty. Psychosocial support to the children easing the pain associated with HIV and AIDS. Provide material social support to the family to uplift the living conditions of 100 orphans. The problem of loneliness and isolation of orphans will be solved. 100 orphans and other 400 family members.
