Each year, for 37 years, students across the United States come together in NYC to celebrate Shakespeare & express their personal connection to his timeless words. Thanks to the hard work & generosity of our branch members, the ESU National Shakespeare Competition has touched the lives of thousands of students. As we celebrate our 100th year, won't you join our members in making this a magical experience for our students?
As you can imagine, NYC is an extremely cost prohibitive city. The English-Speaking Union wants to be able to provide all of our Shakespeare finalists with the most engaging & inspiring experience while here in Manhattan for the National Competition on April 27, 2020. For many, this is the first time they will have ever been here & may be years before some students return. To make this the most enjoyable and exhilarating experience possible, we genuinely need your support to allow us to do so.
By helping to support or fund specific component parts of the finalists stay in NYC this April, you will in turn help the English-Speaking Union (ESU) continue to offer such a phenomenal program. With our centennial in 2020, we seek to secure funding to endow the Shakespeare Competition & enable the ESU to continue to offer this dynamic program in perpetuity.
Receiving your support to sponsor the finalists time in NYC during the Shakespeare finals will allow the ESU to keep the branch commitment to the Competition at as low a cost as possible moving forward.
